**Your VCU V Number is the identification number generated when a new employee is added to Banner.  It is a number with no meaning outside of Banner and presents minimal risk of identity theft as compared to a Social Security Number.  It is however, still considered confidential and protected under FERPA rules.  It may also be known as "Banner ID".  You can find your V number on employee self service.
